- 1. How should I prepare my skin before a spray tan?
Exfoliate 1–2 days before, moisturise well in the week leading up to your appointment, and ensure all old tan is fully removed. On the day, arrive with clean, product-free skin — no deodorant, perfume, makeup, or moisturisers, as these can affect the colour.
- 2. What should I wear to my spray tan appointment?
Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and avoid anything tight or structured. The tan may feel slightly tacky until it develops, so soft clothing is best to prevent marks or rubbing.
- 3. What happens during the spray tan?
You’ll be given disposable paper pants or you may wear your own underwear (just be aware of tan lines). Sticky feet protect the soles from tanning, and we apply barrier cream to dry areas such as elbows, knees, and hands for an even, flawless result.
- 4. How long should I leave the tan on before showering?
Most tans need 8 hours to develop, or 2–4 hours for rapid tans depending on the brand used and your desired depth of colour. We’ll advise your exact rinse time at your appointment.
- 5. How do I make my spray tan last as long as possible?
Moisturise daily, avoid long hot baths or excessive exfoliation, pat the skin dry instead of rubbing, and use gentle, hydrating products. With proper care, a spray tan typically lasts 5–7 days.
Removal of tan is just as important, so when the tan is gradually coming away, soak in the bath with oils, exfoliate the skin and reapply moisturiser daily to ensure hydrated skin.
